The American Pie Council (APC) is the only organization committed to preserving America’s pie heritage and promoting Americans’ love affair with pies. Each year the American Pie Council hosts the National Pie Championships where amateur, professional, and commercial pie bakers can compete in their categories for the best pies in the country.Linda Hoskins has served as the executive director of the American Pie Council since 2000. Along with a strong board of directors, Linda has been responsible for gathering all aspects of the pie industry together for the National Pie Championships, the Great American Pie Festival, and the Pie Industry Seminar. Linda has been a judge for the Food Network and the Travel Channel and has been named to Baking Management’s Influential 20 in both 2009 and 2011. Linda and her husband, Richard, have two children and three grandchildren. She lives in Lake Forest, Illinois.

This is the 3rd book of a collection from Linda . Being a baker and someone who used to go to the library and enjoy a wide variety of cookbooks to look through, I have seen MANY. I can honestly say I have never seen a better one.The book is filled only with the TOP Award winning recipe's from the American Pie Councils National- yearly pie competition. The competition has been featured many times in the past years on the Food Network.To me the book gets 5 stars just for having recipes that have won top awards out of over 400 pies each year. Judged by culinary experienced professionals. But to add to the best in recipes ever to be found in a pie cookbook, the print is large, some are featured on a 2 page spread and included is a photo of the winning pie! You can see what your pie is to look like.This is a MUST have book for any baker, young cook, homemaker and simply anyone who cares to create an award winning dessert. You cannot go wrong getting all these recipes in one book for the price, WOW!!! The recipes range from simple to complex, you are sure to find many to fit your skills and be able to progress into any ones that may seem harder to create. What a GREAT gift to give !
I have been in the APC Pie Family now since 2005 and loved the journey. I have all Linda Hoskins books they are wonderful. I am proud and honored to be part of the APC Heritage. I recommend this cookbook to all bakers !!!
This book is a waste of money. I bake and can and do make homemade pies, but not many cooks would really be interested in the pretentious pies featured in this book. They would take too much time to make, and most of the recipes are so loaded with multiple ingredients that the finished product loses touch with the main ingredient in the pie: i.e. white chocolate blackberry toffee pie; or try, basil key lime pie with berry coulis. Too much. Save your money.
