Having recently been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea (from a take home sleep unit), I came across this book while looking for information online while waiting for a more intensive sleep study which would have me use a cpap. Big bonus..the Kindle edition was free and it was an easy readThe information is similar to what you will find online, but it is nice to have one source describe and give (seemingly honest) opinions on the different treatments options. Sometimes the information you find online are tilted towards particular therapies and may not give you and honest assessment. Even with the medical professionals I've interacted with thus far in my diagnosis haven't really brought up any other therapies other than cpap.In summation, I found this book to be a nice basic summary of sleep apnea and one person's honest reaction/feedback on different treatment options. Again, basically the same information I was able to glean from multiple websites, but without biases like some sites had.**update 12/12/2016**Since my review, I've had a tritation study to determine the CPAP pressure I need, obtained my CPAP device (beware the bureaucracy of the entire process working between health care provider, CPAP provider, and health insurance), and have used my device for almost 2 months. I have a Resmed CPAP, and I'm favoring a nasal pillow mask, which is much more comfortable to wear as compared to a full nasal mask with chunky headgear.
We've just bought a nighttime O2 Sat monitor and realized that my boyfriend's levels are dropping into the 70s at night while he's in REM sleep (and I can hear him choking and gasping). He's scheduled an appointment with a doctor to get formally diagnosed. So, we're in the early stages. This book was well researched and clearly written, and I really appreciate it!
Very helpful in helping me to learn about my sleep apnea and equipment. I was angry at first, but this book helped me come to terms with the reality that I have to used the blasted machine. It is better than not being able to sleep.

Lots of good general information, and gives both positives and negatives of each treatment option. A great resource.
