Hands down, this is the best book available on the subject of the Holy House of Loreto. Father Phillips has written a masterpiece! It contains the complete history of the miraculous events, as well as the inspiring statements of the many saints and popes who have promoted the Holy House. I read the entire book in 1 day and could not put it down. This book is well-researched and admirable, as well, because it refutes the modernist views of Fr. Ulysse Chevalier and Fr. Herbert Thurston, SJ, men who attacked the tradition of the Holy House being brought from the Holy Land to Italy by angels. I visited the Holy House several years ago, but really wish that I had read this book before going. Now, I can't wait to return to Loreto!
Loved this book! I was mesmorized while reading about the true story of the blessed house of the Virgin Mary. The Catholic history was complemented and by the actual history of the times. It answered many of my questions while showing evidence of the miracles.could not put it down!Denise G.
