I bought this as a fun Christmas gift for my husband's nephews family of four boys. I mean, what kid between the ages of 8 and 12 wouldn't think a recipe for chocolate roaches wasn't funny? Many of the recipes are imaginative and I could see kids getting a kick out of them for birthday parties (exploding bonbons anyone?)Several things I wish: one or two illustrations - even just line drawings - would have been nice since this is really geared towards kids. And I don't care for the author's plea at the back of the book for reviews. That is just tacky.I would buy this again (and probably will).

Excellent idea, and well executed! A fun, easy read, with a clear reference from the Harry Potter world to each recipe. Recipes are detailed with prep time, ingredients, and easy-to-follow directions. And they look so delicious! there are some seriously sweet treats in this book! I can not wait to try the Canary Creams and the Exploding Bonbons. I like how the beverages are at the end, and especially how the Butter Beer has a kid version and an adult ale version. Brilliant! I have young nieces and nephews and my own older kids who will love these goodies!

I bought this as a gift. It is small and somewhat underwhelming to look at. Almost generic. But it looks like it has some fun recipes and the person i bought it for liked it. It needs pictures and a better looking cover but all in all it was a good priced gift.

I have not made the recipes yet, but they sound good and capture the most popular ones from the books.
